چکیده

RECENTLY Kocholaty & Hoogerheide [1938] described an example of the adaptation of certain of the endo-enzymes of the strict anaerobe Cl. sporogenes: by varying thepH ofthe culture medium a considerable shift in the pH optimum of some of the dehydrogenases could be produced. It has now been found that under specified conditions the pH optimum of the proteinase secreted by this micro-organism can be shifted, and that, by repeated subculturings on gelatin or casein, specific proteinases are developed which will hydrolyse gelatin, but not casein, and vice versa. EXPERIMENTAL The methods used in preparing the Cl. histolyticum proteinase and estimating its activity were the same as previously described [Kocholaty et al. 1938]. Casein (Hammarsten) and gelatin (Coignet Gold Label) were used as culture media, and as substrates for proteinase activity determinations. Bacteria-free Seitz ifitrates of the incubated cultures were used in the enzyme studies.

Toxic dermatitis secondary to treatment with collagenase clostridium histolyticum for Dupuytren´s disease.

OBJECTIVE Secondary effects and drug reactions relative to collagenase Clostridium histolyticum treatment for Dupuytren's contracture are frequent. In only a few cases these secondary effects are considered serious. The mechanism that produces these effects of production is not well understood. CLINICAL REPORT We present the case report of a woman with fifth finger interphalangeal joint treat...

Bacteriol. 91:477-483. 1966.-From 234 soil samples, 21 strains of Clostridium histolyticum of different levels of alpha-toxigenicity were isolated by a new method specially designed for the isolation of this species. The alpha-toxigenicity of freshly isolated strains and of ...

Gene duplication and multiplicity of collagenases in Clostridium histolyticum.

Clostridium histolyticum collagenase contains a number of different active components. Previously we have shown that colH encodes a 116-kDa collagenase (ColH) and a 98-kDa gelatinase. We purified a different 116-kDa collagenase (ColG) from the culture supernatant and sequenced its gene (colG). We also identified four other gelatinases (105, 82, 78, and 67 kDa) and determined their N-terminal am...

Role of collagenase clostridium histolyticum in Peyronie’s disease

Peyronie's disease is a localized connective tissue disease characterized by an active, inflammatory phase and a stable, quiescent phase, with the eventual development of collagenous plaques within the tunica albuginea of the penis. Risk factors primarily associated with Peyronie's disease include Dupuytren's contracture, penile trauma, and family history. A variety of treatment strategies have...

[Treatment of Dupuytren's disease using collagenase from Clostridium histolyticum].

OBJECTIVE The collagenase from Clostridium histolyticum is a new therapeutic option, and the first pharmacological one, in the treatment of Dupuytren's disease. MATERIAL AND METHODS A prospective study was conducted on 35 patients with Dupuytren's disease. The clinical and functional variables, as well as patient satisfaction and drug safety were evaluated. RESULTS The functional and clinic...
